A Memphis woman is in the news after she reportedly stopped and 'chopped' a possible home intruder with her machete which she calls Rufus.
Cheryl Nibley tells WREG that she sprang into action as she was in her home when she heard her window being raised up in her bedroom.
Nibley says she was on the phone with police telling them someone was trying to come in her house through her window.
During her conversation, at some point, Nibley went to the window with Rufus - her machete - and, in her own words, 'chopped' up everything from the blinds to the man to her bed as she was just chopping away during the incident.
Nibley believes she cut the intruder multiple times including on his head and his shoulders with her foot-long machete which she used to run the man out of the house and chased him down the road all while on the phone with a dispatcher.
Reportedly, this wasn't the first time that Nibley's home was broken into as she believes the man she chopped is the same man that broke into her home before Christmas stealing her televisions.
Nibley warns anyone thinking about coming into her home uninvited that they better "get a job and stop stealing people's stuff" or they'll be saying 'hello to her little friend' Rufus.
