A Staten Island grand jury has made a decision to not indict New York City police officer Daniel Pantaleo, 29, in the chokehold death of Eric Garner, sources have confirmed.

Eric Garner is seen in a video that went viral over the Internet being put into a chokehold that was thought surely to be illegal by one of the NYPD cops, unidentified at the time, while being held down by the other NYPD officers.

In the viral video of the shocking arrest, Garner can be heard clearly saying “I can’t breathe” over and over again until his body is left lifeless.

According to NYPD guidelines, chokeholds are banned which is why many protested Garner’s death and believed surely there would be an indictment.

This grand jury’s decision comes around the same time that a Ferguson grand jury decided not to indict police officer Darren Wilson in the shooting death of unarmed teenager Michael Brown.
