Michael Dunn, Who Killed Jordan Davis Over Loud Music, Gets Life Sentence for the Shooting

Michael Dunn, the man who shot and killed 17 year-old Jacksonville, Florida teenager Jordan Davis, during a confrontation over loud music at a local gas station, has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for that fatal shooting.

It was back on November 23, 2012, a little after 7PM, when Jordan Davis along with three other teens stopped at a gas station at a convenience store in Jacksonville, FL.

In the parking lot, in an adjacent parking space, Michael Dunn, then 45 years-old, was parked in a vehicle, along with his girlfriend.

At some point, Dunn, according to testimony, told his girlfriend "I hate that thug music," while Dunn himself claims he called it "rap crap."

It was not much later that Dunn reportedly confronted the teens about the loud music, which led to an argument and curse words being exchanged. Eventually, Dunn took his handgun out of his glove compartment and fired into the car the teens were in multiple times hitting Davis in multiple locations on his body.

Multiple protests sparked from the shooting after the story of 'a man killing a teen over loud music' went viral.

Dunn was eventually brought up on charges of first degree murder, plus (3) attempted murder charges and another charge of firing a gun into a vehicle which he was found guilty on all charges.

On October 17, 2014, Dunn received the mandatory sentence of life in prison with no chance of parole.
