South Carolina Mom Gets 20 Years In Breast Milk Death of Her Baby Daughter

A Campobello, South Carolina woman has been sentenced to jail for 20 years after she was found guilty of killing her baby daughter with drugs that were present in her breast milk.

Apparently Stephanie Greene, 39, didn’t tell her OB-GYN about her morphine prescription. In addition, Greene didn’t tell the doctor prescribing her the drugs about her pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Greene’s drug use was linked to the death of her 46 day-old daughter Alexis by forensic evidence and doctors.

It was November 13, 2010 when investigators arrived at the scene were Greene’s baby was found dead. At that time, Greene’s words were slurred, her eyes were unfocused and she appeared to be disoriented, according to a trial testimony.

In addition, Greene reportedly had more than 38 fraudulent drug charges against her that were pending.

Greene was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter, unlawful conduct toward a child and homicide by child abuse.
