Darren Sharper, a former NFL star for the New Orleans Saints, has been charged with rape in Los Angeles, California.
The former NFL superstar is accused of drugging at least four women and raping them in his hotel room.
Sharper is accused of using the drug zolpidem (Ambien), a sleeping aid drug used to treat insomnia, on the alleged victims.
Authorities say Sharper would meet the women at a night club and then invite them to another party which led the alleged victims back to Darren Sharper's hotel room, where he is accused of drugging them with a shot of the drug.
Two of his alleged victims Sharper allegedly met at a night club in West Hollywood on October 30th.
After being drugged, the alleged victims would pass out with at least one woman claiming she woke up in the midst of Sharper sexually assaulting her as she came to.
Following the alleged October incident, authorities claim Sharper did it again using the same tactics with two more women at the same night club in West Hollywood.
Arrested on January 17, Sharper was released on $200,000 bail and faces over 30 years in jail if convicted of his charges, which include two counts of rape with use of drugs, 4 courts of furnishing a control substance and 1 count of possession, all felony charges.
