Video dashboard camera revealed some unsettling footage of a police officer shooting several times into a car full of children, five to be exact.
A police officer who arrived to assist another officer during a traffic stop in New Mexico is under investigation after shooting at a Memphis woman and her minivan full of kids after she decided to drive off not once, but at least three times to avoid a speeding ticket.
The officer who initially pulled her over approached the car to tell her she was exceeding the speed limit which she argued with him about. As the officer walked back to his car to call in and write her up, the woman identified as Oriana Ferrell of Memphis, decided to drive off.
When Oriana Ferrell stopped the second time, the officer screamed at her to get of the vehicle and warned her that she was facing evading charges for driving off and told her to step out of the car. The mother of five told the officer that she didn't stop and she's not trying to do anything wrong in front of her children.
"Look, I'm going to ask you one more time to get out of the vehicle and then I'm going to pull you out, OK? You're already facing evading charges. You ran away from me." - Officer
"Sir, I pulled back over, I didn't run away," the woman said. "You see my children. I'm not doing anything wrong. I'm just trying to take them to the Rio Grande." - Ferrell
Ferrell decided to step out of the car and when the officer asked her to turn around and face the vehicle, she proceeded to sprint back to get in the car.
When the officer grabbed Ferrell by the arm, her 14 year-old son bolted out of the car in an effort to help his mother as his young siblings screamed in terror.
The officer ends up shooting the 14 year-old with his taser which sent the teen running back to get in the car and the entire family locking themselves inside the car.
As the officers screamed for them to open the door, the officer who did the initial stop, decided to burst the windows out with a baton.
Once again, Oriana Ferrell drove off and as she drove off another officer decided it was wise to start shooting into the back of the vehicle as five children sat in the back.
Ferrell finally stopped in front of a hotel and was later charged with five counts of abuse of a child, resisting an officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, aggravated fleeing an officer and reckless driving while her teenage son was charged with battery of an officer.
According to reports, officers allegedly found two marijuana pipes inside of her vehicle.
