Blu Restaurant & Bar

There is one thing if you are a Memphis nightclub that you don't want to be, a public nuisance. The latest club being targeted by the Attorney General that has been closed is Blu Restaurant & Bar (Club Blu).

The restaurant, located in the eastern part of Memphis at 3895 Hacks Cross Road, was shut down on Tuesday night following an investigation.

Blu Restaurant reportedly had been the subject of a high number of car thefts as well as violent crimes at the venue.

On Tuesday, authorities visited the location in search of drugs after undercover agents purchased drugs from Blu for more than six weeks.

Allegedly a DJ, security worker and a bathroom attendant are stated to have been a part of the sales that took place at that time, however when they returned to make arrests, the people they were looking for were not located.

Following the closing of Blu Restaurant & Bar (Club Blu) by Attorney General Amy Weirich, on Wednesday, a statement was released by the business which stated that they would be doing background checks, hiring a new security firm and getting additional management support for the business as they would like to comply with the District Attorney's office.

In addition, Blu also added that it wants to become a great business for those in Memphis and in surrounding areas.
