A 35 year-old Von Ormy, Texas married mother, who was also a substitute teacher, was charged on Thursday for having sex with a 14 year-old boy student. Not only was Sotelo having sex with the teen, she allegedly became pregnant by the young boy.
Amanda Sotelo, whose relationship was brought to the attention of school administration in October by the teen boy’s mom, reportedly told authorities she met the young teen through her 14 year-old daughter.
Sotelo was questioned by detectives and admitted to having sex with the underage teen.
Amanda Gail Sotelo claims that she and the young teen boy had confided in each other about their problems and things didn’t get sexual until July and they would have sex once a week.
The former substitute said she learned about her pregnancy in September during a hospital visit and says she is sure the baby wasn’t her husband due to him having a vasectomy after their last child was born.
It is believed that Sotelo was at least once a substitute for a class of the unidentified teen boy.
Meanwhile, Sotelo’s son-in-law says her husband is out-of-town and it has taken an emotional toll on the family as they have been left to tend to her children.
Amanda Sotelo has been charged with indecency with a child and has a bond of $75,000.
14 is the age of consent in Germany, Italy and Portugal. This is a victimless crime.
