Man Found Watching TV Next To Dead Wife’s Decomposing Body Tells Police “She’s Fine”

After a stinky smell was reported by neighbors at a Denver apartment complex, police decided that they would go investigate. When the police arrived on October 1, they couldn’t believe their eyes.

A man identified as Steven Ford was seen watch TV with his family dog, a Great Dane named Lola, next to the body of his decomposing wife, 32-year-old Michaela Beth Ford.

According to an affidavit, the body was slumped on the couch and when police questioned Ford about his wife he is quoted as stating that she wasn’t dead and she was fine. In addition, when police attempted to get near the dead body, Lola took on her role to guard it.

Police believe the body had been decomposing for almost 10 days which coincides with the apartment manager stating it had been almost 2 weeks since they had last seen Michaela Beth Ford.

Meanwhile, Steven Ford has not been charged, as the death is still being investigated.
