Rapper Lil Boosie Found Not Guilty of 1st Degree Murder, Pumps Fist In Court


Hip-Hop artist and rapper Lil Boosie was found not-guilty after a 12-person jury took an hour to deliberate. Boosie was facing life in prison for allegedly hiring Michael “Marlo Mike” Louding to kill 35-year-old Terry Boyd.


Torrance “Lil Boosie” Hatch, 29, who was on a first-degree murder trial, was accused of paying $2,800 to “Marlo Mike” to kill Boyd, who is the brother of his 5 year-old daughter’s mother, Rochelle Wagner.

According to defense attorney Jason Williams, prosecutors had failed to prove their case and tried to use Boosie’s music, which they were influenced by. Boosie’s music was played for the jurors. Williams, pointed out that the images portrayed was a part of branding to sell more records and prosecutor Dana Cummings put the entertainment industry on trial.

After the verdict was read, Lil Boosie pumped his fist in the air and thanked god numerous times.

Judge Michael Erwin, who saw Boosie pump his fist in the air, said that he couldn’t blame the rapper.

Currently, Lil Boosie is serving an eight year sentence in an unrelated case for drug charges.

As for Louding, 19, he faces murder charges in six deaths which includes Boyd, who was murdered in 2009. Boyd was shot through a window at his home.
