Memphis Grizzlies, Stax Music Academy Celebrate A ‘Staxtacular’ 10 Years

The Memphis Grizzlies are set to host the seventh annual Staxtacular charity event, in celebration of 10 years of Memphis Grizzlies basketball and 10 years of Stax Music Academy.

This year, the Memphis Grizzlies and The Stax Music Academy celebrated their tenth anniversaries, but that is not the only thing that they are doing together. The Grizzlies are hosting the seventh annual Staxtacular 2011.

The show will be something to see with appearances by Rudy Gay, Zach Randolph, Mike Conley and Marc Gasol. Many celebrities will be attending the event as well including Grammy winner and Soulsville CEO Kirk Whalum along with the entire Grizzlies team and coaching staff but that wont be all. Also to attend the event is one of Stax original recording artists David Porter.

The show will be at The Stax Museum of American soul music and will include live music by some local favorite soul artists such as the Bo-Keys. Also, the event will showcase a live and silent auction of NBA memorabilia, travel packages and original artwork. Early bidding will begin on March 1 at 7am. All proceeds of the event go to the Stax Music Academy. Tickets are $150 per person or there are All-Star packages, which include 12 tickets and name recognition on the event program, website and during the event, which are $1,500.
