New Clear Channel Station Radio Now Memphis 101.9 Targets Young Adult Listeners

New in the radio world, a few weeks ago Clear Channel launched Radio Now 101.9 KWNW which can be picked up in Memphis over the airwaves. The new station’s goal is to play some of the hottest hits ranging from Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas, amongst others.

Accord to the SVP of Programming at Clear Channel, the reason the station was made is because there has been a dissatisfaction in Memphis among the young adults, especially with mainstream contemporary radio.

The station was custom designed as a means to reach young adults who have just settled. In addition to the launch of the radio station, which made its move from Jonesboro, Arkansas to Crawfordsville, Arkansas, the radio station has incorporated the trending social networks such as Twitter and Facebook as well as mobile listening using the Clear Channel’s iHeartRadio app which allows listeners to stream their favorite radio stations to their iPhone or iPod Touch for free and this works with a WiFi, EDGE or 3G data connection.

The free mobile application can be downloaded at www.radionowmemphis.com and is compatitable with Blackberry, Droid and iPhone.

Meanwhile, if you can’t pick it up on your mobile phone with the application or on the radio, you can always listen “live” straight from your web browser.
