After nearly 6 months, R&B music singer Chris Brown has finally decided to speak up personally in his own words and apologize for the February '09 Rihanna assault which he was charged with back in June.
"I wanted to publicly express my deepest regret.."
Chris Brown went on to state in the video apology which surfaced online yesterday that, since February, his lawyer had been advising him not to speak out, but he felt it was time to say something personally.
This all stems from back in February, when Chris Brown and girlfriend Rihanna allegedly were engaged in a heated argument over a phone message on Chris Brown's phone by a possible woman Chris Brown was cheating on Rihanna with or some mixed reaction fans say it could have been the other way around -- Brown could have possibly just found out Rihanna was cheating on him. Whatever the case, the argument led to an assault by Chris Brown on Rihanna and the rest, well, let's just say, was history.
"I intend to live my life so that I am truly worthy of the term role model," stated Brown toward the end of his video expressing his hope for a turnaround of his now tainted image.
