Rapper Lil Webbie Arrested After Police Chase; Charged On DUI and Drug Possession

Rapper Lil Webbie born Webster Gradney of Baton Rouge was arrested following a high speed chase on Interstate 59 in Hattiesburg, MS. Police tried to stop a 2009 Dodge Challenger for a traffic violation which police state the driver ignored police lights and continued driving recklessly, according to WAFB. The vehicle exited the interstate and collided with a black, 1999 Mercury Cougar, but the chase didn’t end there. While attending to the victims, police say they lost sight of the Challenger but later found a damaged Challenger abandoned in a Walmart which witnesses say the driver exited and got into another vehicle, a 1993 Ford Crown Victoria. Police later found a Crown Vic matching the witnesses’ description with three men inside including Lil Webbie.

Webbie was later identified as the driver of the Dodge Challenger, then arrested and transported to Forrest County Regional Jail where he was charged with one count of felony eluding, one count of driving under the influence, and one misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana. The other men in the vehicle were questioned and released with no charges.

Webbie’s latest album Savage Life 2 released in February of 2008 which includes the Ozone Awards nominated single “Independent” featuring Lil’ Boosie and Lil Phat.
