Memphis Music Icon, Isaac Hayes, dies at 65

It’s a sad sad day for Memphis and everyone who enjoyed the best of the 60’s and 70’s — today it was announced that one of Memphis’ greatest, Issac Hayes, passed away early this morning.. Here is a portion of the story posted on Memphisrap.com news today:

Music icon, legendary soul
singer/songwriter (who wrote the theme song for "Shaft"), producer, and
actor, Isaac Hayes, 65, who began his music career in the early 1960s
as a session player for numerous acts for Stax Records, died early
Sunday morning at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis.
