Memphis ‘Squatter Robber’ Arrested; Cousins Captured, Robbed Over 40 Businesses


Two cousins who are suspected of robbing several restaurants and auto parts stores in Memphis over the last two years were captured on Wednesday.

Two cousins who are suspected of robbing several restaurants and auto parts stores in Memphis over the last two years were captured on Wednesday. The alleged robbers Anthony E. Scott, 27, the gunman and John Scott, 28, the getaway driver were captured after hitting the auto parts store O’ Reilly Auto Parts store, at 275 North Cleveland Street. According to news reports, one was nicknamed the “Squatter Robber” because of the way he walked and jumped on the counters during the robberies. The “Squatter Robber” is stated to have worn the same outfit during each of the robberies which consisted of a FedEx jacket and black clothing.

Memphis Police speculate that the cousins have robbed close to or more than 40 businesses.
