American Gangster tops DVD and Rental Charts despite less in stock than other movies.

The movie “American Gangster” which was based on the life of drug-kingpin-turned-informant, Frank Lucas, surpassed the best picture Oscar nominee “Michael Clayton” in DVD sales and rental charts even though there were three times as many copies of “Michael Clayton,” according to Nielsen VideoScan First Alert data.

“American Gangster” box office earnings were more than $130 million, sold an estimated 4 million units during its first week in stores, the period ended February 24.
