The organizers of the MemphisRap.com Showcase & Industry Networking Event have announced its Showcase winners.

All talent who entered the showcase performed on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 in front of a Panel of Industry Judges, magazine publications, music fans, A&R’s, and others throughout the night which was filled with entertainment and networking.

Top performers of the showcase portion of the event included Telfon Don who took the number one spot with “I Represent”, the second spot was a tie between B’ Rob, the only live hip-hop band which performed “Maniac” and 17 year-old rapper Lil’ Sha, the only solo female performer performing “Thank You Mom”. And though not mentioned after the showcase, the other performer, amongst the top three coming in at a close third place, was rap artist Foley who performed “How You Want It”.

Rap artist Telfon Don will receive a complimentary full day recording session at the prestigious Memphis Records/Young Avenue Sound and an opportunity to appear on the MemphisRap.com Compilation. All three top performers will receive professional PR services and promotions and marketing through MemphisRap.com.

The occasion included a host of Industry professionals who judged the showcase along with special guests for the evening which included Award winning music producer, rapper and songwriter Al Kapone also the President of the Memphis Grammy Chapter, platinum music producer and Memphis Music Commission Board Member Kurt Clayton, TV host and 88.5 MSC radio personality Tina Tilton, Jason Latshaw of Ardent Music and Leeway Music, Wendy Day of Rap Coalition, DJ and on air personality Rob Storm, two time S.E.A. award winner Freddy Hydro, music artist “Free” of Free Sol signed to Justin Timberlake’s Tennman Records, Kevin Nix of L. Nix and Mastering, Phillip Beasley of the Memphis Songwriters Association, Michael McLaughlin of Universal Music, Frayser Boy of B.A.R. Muzik/Hypnotize Minds, rapper artist DJ Zirk, Tom Skeemask, Kingpin Skinny Pimp, Partee of Gain Green Entertainment, Yung Kee, Jack Frost, co-founder Janiro Hawkins of the Southern Entertainment Awards (S.E.A.), Memphis Jookin dancers, the lovely Memphis Honeys models, amongst others. The event was hosted by music producer K-Le and TV Host/Hot 107.1 on air talent Nina Stakz. The Dj for the night was the one and only DJ Chev.

The MemphisRap.com Showcase & Industry Networking Event was held at the New Daisy Theater on infamous Beale St. in Memphis, TN and was sponsored by Vanwraps.com and Memphis Records/Young Avenue Sound and brought to you in part by M-Town Entertainment.
