Yankees front man Derek Jeter is in hot water for possible tax evasion. The New York-based millionaire claims that since the mid-nineties he has been a resident of Tampa, Fl, and therefore does not owe New York any state or local income taxes. New York state, of course, believes otherwise and is scheduled to go forward with their investigation.

Team transactions in the NFL this week include the Jacksonville Jaguars who cut veteran kicker John Carney and resigned linebacker Jorge Cordova. The Carolina Panthers activated Gary Gibson from the practice squad.
