Andrea Castleberry, more commonly known as M$ Blendz, is organizing a local hip-hop awards show to pay homage to Norfolk’s hip-hop community
Rappers and industry artist in Hampton Roads have a new reason to be at their best. Andrea Castleberry, more commonly known as M$ Blendz, is organizing a local hip-hop awards show to pay homage to Norfolk’s hip-hop community. Although the categories differ little from standard award shows dedicated to the genre, M$ Blendz is getting creative when it comes to the venue. The first annual Blendzville Hip-Hop Awards will be held at the Masonic Temple at 7001 Granby St. on Saturday at 8pm. According to The Daily Press, tickets can be purchased for $20 at the door.
The Blendzville Hip-Hop Awards will be hosted by comedian Cletus Cassidy. Scheduled to perform are rappers, Scandalez, Abyss, 7 Arms, Los C and The Brotherhood, Deisel, Brandeesh, Hood Platinum, Cyko, Skinny C, Jaskizzal and Reality Muzik Group. “I’m not an artist myself,” Blendz said Tuesday, “I want to put a light on the artists. I also want this show to be affordable and entertaining.”
