Colorado Rockies Headed For the World Series

Right-hander Matt Holliday’s 3-run homer over the centerfield fence sent the Rockies to victory Monday.

So, who saw this coming at the beginning of the MLB regular season? The Rockies haven’t always been consistent in hits, pitching, or base running, but this season they ran with the big boys and came out on top.

This is the first post-season the Colorado Rockies have seen since 1995’s first round play-offs. Right-hander Matt Holliday’s 3-run homer over the centerfield fence sent the Rockies to victory Monday. Such clutch performances by the team have led them through the entire play-off season.

Colorado now has to wait until after the AL Championship before meeting their World Series opponent. The AL’s Boston Red Sox and Cleveland Indians go at it in game 5 on Thursday in Cleveland.
