The East Shelby County home of Tamera Mitchell-Ford, wife of former state senator John Ford, will not be auctioned off by the county court as was previously planned.

The East Shelby County home of Tamera Mitchell-Ford, wife of former state senator John Ford, will not be auctioned off by the county court as was previously planned.

Documents show that moments before the auction on Tuesday, Mitchell-Ford filed for bankruptcy. With bankruptcy protection, Mitchell-Ford, will be allowed to keep her home.

Mitchell-Ford’s mortgage company claims that she has not made payment on the house since February of this year.
