Another Strip Club Ordinance Making It’s Way Through The Commission

Less than a month after the Shelby County Commission implemented strict strip club ordinances, there is yet a new rule that is working its way into law for adult themed establishments.

Less than a month after the Shelby County Commission implemented strict strip club ordinances, there is yet a new rule that is working its way into law for adult themed establishments.

According to the commission, there are about a dozen strip clubs and adult businesses operating too close to schools and churches in the area. These businesses are currently operating under the grandfather clause, which allows them to stay in their location. However, under the new law, any of these facilities that is found operating illegally or being a public nuisance will have their license suspended for 12 months, thus making their-re-open status subject to all new laws and not the grandfather clauses.

All strip clubs not under the grandfather clause are mandated to operate in industrial districts away from schools, churches, and residential areas that could be adversely affected by their presence.
