Everyone has been anticipating the arrival of the iPhone and wondering what all the hype is about, now those who were wondering will get a chance to see it first hand.

For the past few days, a number of people have been camping outside of retailers in the sun while those at home who have been waiting to buy online talked about how amped up they were and couldn't sleep one day prior to its release. There are so many people wanting an iPhone, even Mayor John F. Street in Philidelphia stood in line, but eventually left according to reports after someone passing by asked him about the city's murder rate. According to reports the mayor reportedly stated he loves just trying out new technology and the iPhone would allow him to work all day outside of the office.

Not all may have hands on with the new revolutionary cell phone, as the 4.8 oz iPhone is not easy on the pocket at a price tag of $499 for a 4-gigabyte model and $599 for a 8-gigabyte version. In addition to digging deep into the pockets of consumers, subscribers of Cingular which is now AT&T, will have the option to select from six different calling plans with the cheapest starting at $59.99 a month all the way up to $219.99 a month on a 2-year contract. Activation of the phone will work through iTunes where the phone owner will have to connect their iPhone to his/her Mac or PC using an included cable and dock, which will prompt them with onscreen instructions in iTunes to activate their iPhone and choose a plan. Plans include unlimited data (web, email and text messaging), visual voicemail, rollover minutes, unlimited mobile-to-mobile and other features Also, phone owners can sync their contacts, calendars, email accounts, bookmarks, music, photos, videos and more to their iPhone.

Since the revealing of the Apple iPhone in January, Apple's stock has risen more than 40% percent even though forecasters call the revolutionary phone a flop in the making. No matter what has been said, it hasn't stopped Apple from putting it on the market or future buyers from buying it.

While the first buyers are out grabbing their iPhones, smart buyers are waiting until all the bugs are worked out, until the 2-megapixel camera is increased and until AT&T adds the phones to its fastest data network which has already been stated to be slow and painful by ealier reviewers.

Although the multimedia cellphone will lack some key components many don't even care, they just want to be one of the first to own the new Apple iPhone.

The Apple iPhone was officially released in the U.S. market at 6PM on June 29, 2007. The iPhone is slated to hit Europe in late Fall of 2007 and Asia in 2008.
