Justin Timberlake Launches Tennman Records, Joint Venture With Interscope Records

In the next few weeks the label is stated to be announcing its first signing of artists.

Memphis’ own mult-platinum four time Grammy Award-winning recording artist Justin Timberlake (formerly from the band N’Sync) recently launched his record label “Tennman Records”. The record label will be a joint venture with Interscope Records which was announced by Jimmy Iovine, Chariman, Interscope Geffen A&B. Justin Timberlake will act as the Chariman and CEO of the label in this joint venture while Ken Komisar, former Vice President of A&R, Sony BMG Music Entertainment will act as the President. The label will be based out of Los Angeles and will be distributed worldwide by Interscope Geffen AM according to a press release.

In the next few weeks the label is stated to be announcing its first signing of artists.

“Whenever you have the opportunity to get into business with someone as gifted as Justin Timberlake, you take it,” commented Mr. Iovine. “We are thrilled to have his label as part of Interscope.”

Justin Timberlake stated that he’s very excited about all the new talent the label will have to offer on their roster and can’t wait to introduce his new discoveries to the world.

While no one knows for sure why he named his record label Tennman, it could possibly be because he’s a Tennessee Man.

This is just one of the many ventures Justin Timberlake is trying a stab at. In 2005 the pop singer launched the William Rast clothing line, sold in Bloomingdale’s, with childhood friend Trace Ayala. Timberlake has also opened several restaurants in the United States.

In other news, reports state that in April 2007, Timberlake was seen entering a London studio with Madonna, thus confirming rumors that he was collaborating with the pop star. Justin revealed that “We actually wound up with 5 or 6 really good songs, some finished, some unfinished, and we’re gonna go back in July and finish some more stuff.” And asked if he would be singing with Madonna, he said, “Possibly, yeah!” On May 12, 2007, the gossip was refueled about Jessica Biel and Justin being possibly involved with the release of romantic pictures of Timberlake and Biel on multiple dates, some included pictures of them kissing while dining in the UK accompanied by producer/mogul Timbaland and the Manchester United football player Alan Smith.

Most recently, Justin has lent his voice in the mega-hit “Shrek the Third” which has grossed an estimated $217,348,470 since its debut on May 18, 2007.

Justin Timberlake has sold more than 13 million albums worldwide for his albums “Justified” released in 2002 and “Future Sex/LoveSounds” which released September 12, 2006.
