We’ve all heard stories of celebrities having run-ins with the law over child support. Well now it seems that, Memphis rapper Tela “Winston Rogers” can be added to that list since the rapper hasn’t paid child support for more than 5 years.
“We been looking pretty much of everywhere trying to identify where he (Tela) is or where he might be,” stated Child Support Director, Mitch Morgan, of the Memphis & Shelby County Juvenile Court. “Even to the extent where we thought he was going be here doing a concert in Memphis. He’s really kind of self employed and owns the record label and that record label is in Texas, California and then Georgia and it’s difficult for us,” added Morgan.
Tela’s Attorney, Arthur Horn stated that Tela plans to deal with his Juvenile court problems in the next few weeks and says that it’s not that he (Tela) has neglected paying child support, but that the delay is due to a dispute with the record label. The rapper claims that he did not make any money for the last 5 years and that the dispute is now over and he has plans to come out with a new album and plans to come to Memphis to clear up ‘the mess’.
