Universal Republic’s Shop Boyz

The Shop Boyz’s impact has been so amazingly huge in the digital world that even some seasoned rappers are in awe, but have stated that even though they’re doing good digitally, when the album releases it will probably not match with the downloads due to the declining sales of CD’s.

Atlanta based trio Shop Boyz has been reported to have taken the spot as the #1 selling ringtone in the country with the smash hit “Party Like A Rock Star” produced by music producer Pit. The song “Party Like A Rock Star” has not only taken radio by storm since April, but also the digital market since inking a deal with the label On Deck/Universal Republic. Shop Boyz presently are the leading music group with ringtone distributors and wireless carries, taking over the mobile music charts of Verizon, Cingular, Sprint, Boost and Jamster selling tens of thousands of downloads.

The single “Party Like A Rock Star” has also made it on the Billboard’s Hot Rap Tracks Chart peaking at #4 for more than 8 weeks and #9 up from #12 on the Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.

Most recently Shop Boyz music video debuted and has been add to MTV2, MTV Jams, MTV Hits, BET and BET “Rap City.”

Their album “Rockstar Mentality” is scheduled for a release date of June 19, 2007 .
