David Banner Auditions For Villain ”Gamble” In ”The Dark Knight” Sequel To ”Batman Begins”

David Banner reportedly shaved his beard for this audition to fit the character and if he gets the part this will be his fourth time with a role in a major film.

According to reports rapper and music producer David Banner real name Levell Crump, 34, is yet again going out for an acting gig by auditioning for the role of Gamble, a new villain who is one of The Joker’s henchmen in the new movie “The Dark Knight,” directed and co-written by Christopher Nolan and a follow-up to the worldwide smash “Batman Begins.”

“I promise this to the ‘hood. … If I get this part, I’m gonna smack Batman in the face,” he exclaimed, laughing playfully. “Even if it’s not in the script! [Then] we can tell the kids in the ‘hood [that] Batman got smacked by David Banner,” stated Banner to MTV News.

“The Dark Knight” stars Christian Bale “Bruce Wayne/Batman”, Maggie Gyllenhaal “Rachel Dawes”, Heath Ledger “The Joker”, Gary Oldman “Lt. James Gordon”, Aaron Eckhart “Harvey Dent”, Eric Roberts “Salvatore ‘The Boss’ Maroni”, Memphis native Morgan Freeman “Lucius Fox”, Nestor Carbonell, and Michael Caine “Alfred Pennyworth”.

Banner’s latest film role is a still in progress movie “Days of Wrath” which is set to release in 2008 starring Ricardo Chavira, Laurence Fishburne and features Kurupt, Rick Ross, Slim Thug, and others. Banner will also play a role in “This Chirstmas” starring Nia Long which features Chris Brown that is slated for a November 21, 2007 release date. David Banner’s first role was in the movie “Black Snake Moan” starring Samuel L. Jackson and Christina Ricci in which he played Tehronne. “Black Snake Moan” was directed by Memphis film producer Craig Brewer and was released in movie theaters on March 2, 2007.

In addition to getting on the big screen, David Banner is making his way into the animated world with his new cartoon series which debuted on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim titled That Crook’d ‘Sipp, Sunday, May 13.

“The Dark Knight” is set to come out in July 18th, 2008 according to reports.
