Method Man Arrested, Serves Short Jail Time On Drug Charges


Officer Donald Johnston was stated to have been told by Method Man afterwards that he had more marijuana underneath the driver’s seat. Police officers allegedly found 28 grams (0.035 ounces) of the illegal substance in his vehicle.

Wu Tang Clan member and Grammy Award-winning rapper Method Man “Clifford Smith” whose name (Method Man} says it all (slang for marijuana in Staten Island ) was stopped by Officer Donald Johnston prior to paying a toll-booth operator at the Battery Tunnel at 10 pm for an expired inspection sticker. The rapper allegedly rolled down his window where the officer was hit in the face with a stench of marijuana and a plastic bag was noticed in his SUV.

Method Man was arraigned in Brooklyn Criminal Court and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, criminal possession of marijuana, operating a motor vehicle under the influence and driving an uninspected motor vehicle.

Method Man was released on his own recognizance May 18, after having been arraigned in Brooklyn Criminal Court.

In related news, the Wu-Tang Clan has a new album, after, reportedly being six years in the making, entitled “8 Diagrams,” scheduled for a summer release on July 7th, 2007.
