From what the president is stating he's being blackmailed and will fight to clear his name. During a speech on television the Israeli President teared up and pounded on a podium stating, "I didn't carry out any of the actions attributed to me."
According to reports similar complaints from another woman were dropped against Moshe Katsav for lack of evidence, while the statute of limitations was judged to apply to allegations made by five others. It is also reported that yesterday that details of these five cases could still be introduced in court if prosecutors want to establish Katsav's alleged modus operandi.
Moshe Katsav is angry with Israeli media after claims were made against him by the women workers who he has stated is trying to take revenge on him either because he fired them or didn't respond to their work-related demands.
"These are venomous allegations," he said. "After the facts become clear, every citizen of Israel will understand the scope of injustice being carried out here."
After Moshe Katsav stated that he wouldn't quit unless formally indicted, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert who is also being investigated over alleged corruption, said in a separate address the president must go.
