The Intersection of Music; North Meets South

Now-a-days, there seems to be a lot of traveling and re-settling lately in the sense of our entertainers.

Now-a-days, there seems to be a lot of traveling and re-settling lately in the sense of our entertainers.

I recently returned to my childhood home of Detroit, to find that most of my friends and colleagues had taken up residency in Atlanta, the place I had just left! I wondered for a minute what was making everyone leave Detroit, a place flourishing with brand new talent. I was able to talk with a couple of my newfound talented friends and ask what made them go south.

Needless to say, that most of them were eager to share that the opportunities in the south for entertainers were booming. But I felt that the industry was booming everywhere! I guess I was wrong in a sense. I have classmates from High School such as Tony of the Tony Rich Project, he’s in Atlanta now, doing his thing! Big Ups on you for that; My neighborhood/schoolmates Ebo and his brother Damien, ripping it up down there with Trillvillians Inc/TRILLTOWN, and that’s just a few of the vast numbers of northerners going south.

It’s a grand thing I must say first and foremost because during a time when all things seem so dissected and set apart, we find an intersection in our music industry. And this is a connection that should ensure the positive future we all need to create for our youth.

Be on the lookout for some of the mentions in this article, for their upcoming projects and maybe a few bios here and there, ya know!
