Pimp C seems ready to take on the world on behalf of reppin the South. In a interview on 97.9 The Box, the Houston rapper stated “Y’all stop cryin’ mayne, on the east. Y’all been eating for years… We all got grillz in our mouth, now they want grillz in they mouth on the east. I ain’t trippin’, do your thing. But, don’t be crying that hip-hop’s dead. If hip-hop’s dead, it’s y’all fault that hip-hop’s dead. So, get your backpack, jump on the train and get your paying gig up and get in the know.”

Lately, Pimp C has been making his rounds performing and collecting honors such as at shows like the Ozone Awards, picking up awards at the VMA’s, featuring on songs such as “Do Your Time” with Ludacris and rappers Beanie Sigel and C-Murder who all talk about survival within the prison system, and working on a long-awaited UGK album with ‘partner in rhyme’ Bun B.

The one-half of duo Underground Kingz (UGK), Pimp C, served half of an 8-year sentence for assault, was released late 2005 and although he will be on parole until December 2009, it doesn’t seem to hold back the rapper one bit. Even while in prison, he reportedly wrote over 2,500 songs while there.

Pimp C’s latest album is entitled “Pimpalation” and is in stores now.
