Behind the scene of Cash Money Records

Cash Money Records is known for making hot tracks, from the late 1990’s to 2006. There is several rap songs that have went through the walls of Cash Money studios to hit the rap world and make it big. However, not all you hear or know of Cash Money is there own. Many of there top artists have left because of a number of reasons; one being Baby (co-owner of the record label) seems to hold back on the artists’ money forcing them to find a new home. That was the case for B.G., Juvenile, and Mannie Fresh and almost happened with Lil’Wayne. Cash Money doesn’t have tons of artists but they do have one of the top rap artists in the game and that is Lil’ Wayne, but recently in an interview with ex Cash Money artist Gillie, another side of Cash Money was shown.

After his crew, Major Figgas, moved major units of their independent release, Figgas 4 Life, in the late 1990’s, Gillie landed a solo deal with Tony Draper’s Suave House Records. Suave House was a hot record label in the south at the time with platinum artists 8Ball & MJG, but they lost their distribution with Universal and Gillie found himself in a deal with Cash Money after Baby told him,
