Three 6 Mafia To Make History At Oscar Academy Awards

Recently Paul “DJ Paul” Beauregard and Jordon “Juicy J” Houston, were nominated for writing the music and lyrics for “It’s Hard Out Here for a Pimp” for the movie soundtrack “Hustle & Flow” (which won the Audience Award at Sundance Film Festival).

Telecast producer Gil Cates announced that Memphis rap group Three 6 Mafia will be performing at the 78th Academy Awards, which is a first time in the history of the Academy Awards.

Recently Paul “DJ Paul” Beauregard and Jordon “Juicy J” Houston, were nominated for writing the music and lyrics for “It’s Hard Out Here for a Pimp” for the movie soundtrack “Hustle & Flow” (which won the Audience Award at Sundance Film Festival). They will be performing their nominated song with Darnell “Crunchy Black” Carlton and Taraji Henson, the actress who sang the hook in the film. Fellow Hypnotize Minds member Cedric “Frayser Boy” Coleman, who is nominated with Beauregard and Houston, will also perform. The song will be the first rap song ever performed on the telecast in the history of the Academy Awards.

The Academy Awards will be Sunday, March 5, 2006, at the Kodak Theatre at the Hollywood & Highland Center and televised on ABC TV Network with the red carpet show starting at 4 p.m. PST and the telecast at 5 p.m.
