| Hailing from a state known more for legendary Blues artist like the great B.B. King, Hip Hop began very early for E. Will. He started writing lyrics when he was in elementary. "I would write verses, but no one really knew." Growing up in Tunica, MS, it was normal finding yourself in a studio session. Not yet totally interested in music, E.Will would only ghost write for other artist. The son of a local business owner/hustler, E.Will would leave school and hang out at his father's pool-hall/ corner store all day and night. Learning the tricks and trades of everyday hoodlife, which experiences are express so vividly in his music. "All the street cats would be there, especially on the weekend, when the D.J was playing music. I learned just as much in that neighborhood as I did at school," remembers E.Will." Motivated by the rise of southern acts like David Banner, T.I, Lil Wayne, and the entrepreneur spirit of labels like Rocafella Records, E.Will was ready to become an artist. "I would see the videos and hear the albums being made. They were going 2x, 3x platinum. I knew music was a real option for me. I knew I could do it too,if they made it." His first mixtape was titled E. Will He Is!!! The streets were blown away by his honest lyrics, as well as his unique voice. Since then, he's unleashed an arsenal of mixtapes, including 'From The Bottom', E.Will: 'Self Titled', E.Will 'He Is I' hosted by Memphis, TN's D.J. Spanish Fly of Hot 107.1, 'The Calm Before The Storm,' and The Streetz Got Soul' With his subject matter that hits close to home, E. Will has become one of the more promising talents to emerge out of the midsouth region. E.Will's momentum continues. His lyrics are witty, yet heart felt. His wordplay is captivating, giving listeners the everyday realities of street life. He's focused on the business also, aiming to break into a bigger market along with his label "Track Line Entertainment." "My street fan base is there. It's growing everyday. Real niggas wanna hear real music. I grew up around certain kinda people doing certain things. It made me who I am. It's me. No apologies. But it wouldn't be smart if I continue to follow in their foot steps, knowing where it leads to. So I'm tryina choose music. Still, I'ma give you the truth every time. This is my story, so I'ma tell it. Like it or not!" |
