Hustle and Flow's Taraji P. Henson has been named as co-host along side Terrance Howard for the 2009 Soul Train Awards!
Taraji P. Henson and Terrance Howard, both of whom starred in 2005's hit movie Hustle and Flow where Howard portrayed a pimp turned rap star in Memphis, are to host the 2009 Soul Train Awards to be televised November 29th on BET and Centric, a new channel jointly operated by the BET and MTV Networks divisions of Viacom.
A commercial on BET promoting the event shows Howard and Henson joking about the Hustle and Flow movie with Henson saying "The show is going to be like Hustle and Flow." Howard stops her by saying "Have you ever seen Hustle and Flow?"
"The Soul Train Awards will honor the best in R&B music as well as the careers and musical influences of artists Chaka Khan, Charlie Wilson, L.A. Reid and Kenny "Baby Face" Edmonds. The special will also celebrate soul music's legacy and the numerous artists who've helped pave the way for today's crop of performers," BET said in a release.
