A woman has been arrested for allegedly stalking another woman on Facebook. 36 year-old Shannon Jackson from Hendersonville, Tennessee was arrested for sending a 'poke' to a fellow Facebook user.
Poking someone on Facebook is a simple gesture used for virtual flirting or nudging.
It is apparent that Jackson had a protection order against her for allegedly harassing, threatening and verbally abusing Dana Hannah. The protection order banned Jackson from telephoning, contacting or otherwise communicating with Hannah in which Jackson violated these terms by sending Hannah a harmless 'poke' on Facebook resulting in her arrest.
According to a local newspaper, The Tennessean, Hendersonville Police have obtained screen grabs of the victim's Facebook page showing evidence of the poke.
Jackson faces up to 1 year in Prison and a fine of $2,500 if convicted. A trial date has been set for October 28 in the Sumner County General Sessions Court to determine if she violated the protection order.
Note to all: If you have a restraining order against you, don't go poking the petitioner on Facebook because you could be arrested!!
