Cordarius Williams better known as platinum producer Buck Nasty was born in Memphis, Tn. on March 17, 1990. His fascination with music began at a young age, when he created a make-believe radio station. His interest steadily grew from there and eventually led to his music career, which he semi-started in 2005 and started to take serious around 2008 while attending college. Buck is a producer (and 'sometimes' rapper) doing rap, R&B, pop, rock, and country beats.
"I was always into music, from when I was younger, linking tape recorders & radios together to make my own make believe radio station to the point where I was just chopping & screwing with just tape players. Fast forward, I was bored one day & actually wanted to get into it full time," says Buck in an interview with The Hype Magazine
Buck split his early years between Memphis, TN. and Nesbit, MS. (now Southaven). He attended Mississippi Valley State University on a full football scholarship where he played offensive tackle. He was kicked out of Valley for "unclear reasons". After he left Mississippi Valley he started working regular 9 - 5 jobs. After a few jobs & years he later graduated from Delta Tech in 2014, with a certification in HVAC.
Buck describes himself as a work machine, a music lover, and a producer of sounds. His taste in music is wide ranging, including Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, Florida-Georgia Line, Taylor Swift, Kanye, Kendrick, J. Cole, Miley Cyrus, Justin Derulo, Drake, Mayer Hawthorne, Rihanna, etc...
Buck has exceptional talent and a massive span for someone who doesn't have a background in music. He never participated in band or any other music related activities. Although, many may like his productions, he is never satisfied & is always on a constant pursue of new sounds & ways to increase his production skills. He does not classify himself as a rapper, he considers himself as some sort of hype man, some compare his vocal hypeness to Fat Man Scoop & Lil Jon (you can hear him on iLoveMemphis' song Lean & Dabb, in which he also produced), but as he says this is not his main focus.
His beats caught the attention of music executive Miami Mike (after he signed iHeartMemphis) and he was immediately signed to the record mogul’s indie label PTE (Palm Tree Entertainment). Buck then produced the platinum hit 'Hit The Quan' and 'Lean & Dabb' for iHeartMemphis, also known as iLoveMemphis, which lead to a deal with Warner Chappell. He is iLoveMemphis' primary, well only producer.
When looking for artists to produce, Buck seeks talent, work ethic, consistency, and dedication. He looks for that edge that makes an artist hot, that makes them stand out.and finds ways to twist it to keep it fresh while maintaining their original style. The number one prerequisite in his clients, though, is that they make good music.
His intriguing nickname came in part from his dad, who dubbed him ‘Buck’ for his teeth, but when students, teachers & staff heard it they thought it meant that he was a wild child and ‘Nasty’ was added later by a high school football teammate at practice during 2-A-Days, he stated it came about because the team had not yet 'earned' a water break, but the sprinkler system came on & he drank from it.
