| "Cinematic Audio", are the words he uses to describe his music. "Once you hear it, it's takes you right into a visual scene. So when the artist hears it, they know just what to do with it. And that's when the magic happens..." The Memphis-Native producer, Sean K., can very well be titled as "What's Next" in the industry. If asked about his influences, there's always a deep breath before he answers... "Growing up I never limited myself to listening to just one style or culture of music", says the Frayser upstart. "There are so many artist in different genres of music that I admire. Their creative ways of expression through music is what's fascinating. As he speaks on bands and artist, he admires everyone, from Johnny Taylor to Nirvana, to Massive Attack to everything in between. His musical catalog can go on for days. "And that's what I love about producing. I'm able to compile all my influences into my own creative expression." Though Sean K. speaks enthusiastically on his love for producing; it didn't start out as his first passion. " I started out rapping with a couple of local groups. At the time, it was hard trying to find producers to work with. Either they were limited with their sound or their grind and work ethnic wasn't focused on the business at hand." Since he couldn't find anyone to take that direction, he decided to take on the job of producing on his own. "I started out with the Akia MPC-2000 until a fellow producer introduced me to Propellerhead's Reason. Since then, it's been the foundation of my production." |
