‘Orange Is The New Black’ Writer Realizes She’s Gay, Divorces Husband, Dating Actress

Lauren Morelli writer for Netflix’s hit original series “Orange Is The New Black” has reportedly broken up with her husband Steve Basilone, filed for divorce and is now dating female cast member, actress Samira Wiley.

Reportedly, according to court documents, the married couple Lauren Morelli and Steve Basilone filed for divorce jointly.

Morelli apparently came out as gay after realizing it from working with the comedy-drama series “Orange Is The New Black,” which is about a bi-sexual woman’s experience in prison based on Piper Kerman’s memoir “Orange Is the New Black: My Year in a Women’s Prison.”

Lauren Morelli revealed that she realized that she was gay upon the first few days of the set on the “Orange Is The New Black” show in 2012.

Morelli says she no longer feels uncomfortable in her life whether around heterosexuals or lesbians because she now knows that she is a lesbian.
