With below freezing temperatures due to the Arctic cold weather pushing through the Memphis metro area, closings are coming in and around Memphis, TN and the State of Tennessee has been placed under Level III “State of Emergency.”
According to weather service reports, the temperature is going to drop to below 10 degrees Fahrenheit with wind chills in the below zero value.
As far as Memphis schools, Shelby County schools were already closed for the holiday season and will not be opening until Tuesday, January 7th, if weather permits.
Some closings in the surrounding area announced for Monday due to the below freezing temperature include Hardin, McNary County and Tippah County.
