Rappers Yelawolf and DJ Paul are about to show you what the dirty south is about in a new collaboration project that the two have in the mix. Yelawolf recently revealed that he was teaming up with Three 6 Mafia's DJ Paul for a collaboration project, as reported on MemphisRap.com, and that the two will be infusing rap/hip-hop along with heavy metal and hard rock.
Although the two haven't came up with a title for the project, they are still speaking on the 'work in progress.'
In an interview with VIBE, Yelawolf states that he got trigger happy and dove right in to dedicate himself to the project by posting a picture and caption on instagram to say that it was a lock.
"I pulled the trigger on Instagram and was like f-ck it, I'm goin for it. I pulled the trigger because I know we're going to do it for sure and I know how fast it's going to happen," stated Yelawolf.
On the other hand, DJ Paul says he has been piecing the music together with the assistance of his engineer who plays the guitar. The rapper/producer says that he laid out 16 beats in under 30 minutes, however Yelawolf hasn't had the chance to hear them just yet.
As for features on the project, Yelawolf hopes to bring on legendary drummer and producer Travis Barker, possibly rapper A$AP Rocky and some of Three 6. In addition, he hopes to do a few stops for a tour with Triple 6.
To close things up, DJ Paul makes mention of the reunion of Three 6 Mafia.
According to DJ Paul, the main group will consist of Lord Infamous, Gangsta Boo and Crunchy Black and they have been recording to see what direction they will be taking.
Don't expect anything too quick as DJ Paul says something will come out within the year.
In the words of DJ Paul, "The world ain't ready for what we're about to give em."
