Cordova Man Accused Of Trying To Kill His Girlfriend; Charged With Attempted Murder

A Cordova man has been charged with attempted murder after shooting his girlfriend in the head.

Andrew Edwards, 39, who is stated to have been under financial pressure is accused of choking and throwing his girlfriend against a wall, which was witnessed by a man who had came to pick her up. Reportedly, Edwards put the gun to the victim’s head and pulled the trigger of the gun, which he claims was accidentally fired.

According to WREG, the woman was found on the floor unconscious by police and is listed now in serious condition at The Med.

Andrew Edwards has been charged with attempted second degree murder with a $500,000 bond.

Edwards is due in court on February 15, 2013.
