Memphis Police Discover Skull, Human Remains Found In Landfill

A human skull and remains have been discovered in some brush at the BFI South Shelby Landfill in Memphis, a landfill which is used for residential and commercial waste.

According to Memphis Police Crime Scene Investigation, the remains are that of an adult human.

The remains were found by an employee at the South Shelby landfill located at 5494 Malone Road @ E Holmes Rd on Thursday around 2 pm. It is unknown how long the remains have been there.

Authorities have not disclosed any details but were on the scene with medical examiners for several hours in a location, which reportedly is rarely accessed by employees.
