Teacher Shot, Children Killed, Gunman Dead In Conn. Elementary School Shooting

Sandy Hook Elementary School students and teachers were rushed out of the building after two gunmen opened fire in a Newtown, Connecticut shooting. Police reported that several were wounded and at least 18 children killed of the 27 reported in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.

The Principal, psychologist and one of the gunmen are among those stated to be dead.

According to reports, one of the shooters, who had two guns in his possession, is stated to have been the father of a student, who had allegedly got into an altercation with the Principal. It is unclear what may have prompted the father to go on a killing rampage.

The second shooter is reported to be a 24 year-old, who allegedly had four weapons, and was wearing a bullet-proof vest. The second shooter is at large as authorities search car to car and in wooded areas.

Due to the alarming situation, all schools in Newtown were placed on lock-down as well as neighboring schools in other counties.

Sandy Hook Elementary teaches grades K-4 in Newtown, which has a population of 27,000.
