Chris Lighty, the hip-hop manager behind 50 Cent, Diddy, Ja Rule and Yo Gotti, as reported on MemphisRap.com, was found dead of an apparent suicide, outside his Bronx apartment Thursday.
Lighty, 44, founder of Violator Management, had apparently been in a heated argument with his estranged wife, who filed for divorce last year.
The alleged argument happened at Lighty’s Bronx apartment before Lighty was found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gun shot wound, says sources.
Sources reveal that Lighty stepped outside his apartment about 11:30 a.m., when suddenly, a gun shot rang out. That’s right before Lighty was found lying faceup with a 9-mm. pistol next to his body.
Reportedly, Lighty may have been struggling financially on top of a $5 million debt allegedly owed to the IRS.
Details are still sketchy, but for now, it is believed Lighty died of an apparent suicide.
