A man suspected in the 'Santa killings' of eight people at a holiday party on Christmas Eve in suburban Covina, Los Angeles has killed himself several hours after the murders. The suspect reportedly was seeking revenge for a divorce.
Bruce Jeffrey Pardo, 45, dressed as Santa, went to his in-laws home, knocked on the front door and when an 8-year-old girl answered the door, he shot her in the face, then brutally murdered at least eight people after opening fire on around 25 guests with a hand gun at the home before setting it ablaze with some type of flammable liquid.
Pardo who was seeking revenge against his ex-wife was also believed to have lost his job.
Police say after the shooting, Pardo's body was found dead from a single gunshot wound to the head at his brother's house in Sylma.
Pardo reportedly left the Santa suit at the scene of the crime wearing casual clothing.
Several people have been reported as still missing after police sorted through ashes of the home.
